I have successfully ventured into the first month of my senior year! It is crazy to think that I started Broadcast Technology over three years ago. I am so excited to begin this year and make it the best one yet. My first official video I have posted is: What is Propulsion? This was made, once again, for the lovely HEC-TV to be in their upcoming show Explore! Flying. After my previous flying video, (The Flying Dentist) I felt this one was harder to get b-roll for. However, I am always up for a challenge. I interviewed Dennis. He is very skilled in aerospace/ supersonics after he worked with McDonald Douglas (now Boeing) and NASA on jets such as f-15s and the Harrier Project. I changed the angle of my video to better fit my audience, 3rd to 6th grades. I originally wanted to profile Dennis and his work on supersonic jets as well as hypersonic aircrafts, however, he gave me such a great detailed explanation of propulsion that I had to make a separate video on that altogether. I may come out with a bonus video on hypersonic aircrafts for the internet. I'm pleased with this video and I was able to learn creative ways to provide movement in a very static interview (I mean of course, he is an engineer...).
As a member of the St. Louis community I want to address the recent events unfolding in Ferguson. I believe it is tragic what happened and feel that the national media wrongly portrayed the community of St. Louis County as a whole. A month ago, Jack Lavey and I went into forest park and got many interviews just on my iPad about the misinterpretation of St. Louis. The feedback my friend and I got was astonishing! I'm proud to be from St. Louis and think that I'm blessed to be growing up in the heart of a piece of history. I will put those interviews up as soon as humanly possible. Keep praying for the community of Ferguson and thank you for reading
